A panel of 18th century ciselé silk velvet

French or Italian, circa 1760-1780

The pattern of floral swags, garlands, sprays and hanging bouquets, and entwined ribbons finished in bows and tassels, in a burgundy cut and uncut pile on a ground of yellow silk with a supplementary weft of metal thread. Consisting of one full width of 66cm, with 6cm joined at the left, and 33cm at the right.
