A pair of ciselé silk velvet hangings
French, circa 1760-1780
The pattern of floral swags, garlands, sprays and hanging bouquets, and entwined ribbons finished in bows and tassels, in a burgundy cut and uncut pile on a ground of yellow silk with a supplementary weft of metal thread.
The velvet, the full width of which is 66cm, joined and bordered with gold braid.
Each hanging 132cm (52”) high and 133cm (52⅜”) wide.
