A hanging of 18th century ciselé silk velvet

French, circa 1760-1780

The pattern of floral swags, garlands, sprays and hanging bouquets, and entwined ribbons finished in bows and tassels, in a burgundy cut and uncut pile on a ground of yellow silk with a supplementary weft of metal thread.

Bordered with gold braid.
