A panel of 18th century French needlework

Circa 1730-1750

With poppies in a central cartouche surrounded by a garland of smaller flowers on a black ground, worked in wool in tent stitch and cross stitch.

With 19th century extension beyond the cartouche at top and bottom.

123cm (48½") high and 78cm (30¾") wide.
