An 18th century French needlework chair seat cover

Circa 1730-1750

Worked in silk and wool in cross stitch and petit point with a pair of ho-ho birds standing amid oversized flowers and pomegranates; this central cartouche set within a red and ochre strapwork frame, and a cream border with further trailing pomegranates and leaves. With restorations.
