An 18th century needlework chair seat and back
French, circa 1730
Each panel worked in wool and silk with pomegranates, pineapples and other exotic fruits and flowers on a yellow ground bordered with acanthus leaves, the back with a large scallop shell. With restorations.
The back 60cm (23⅝”) high and 58cm (22⅞”) wide, the seat 43cm (17”) deep and 66cm (26”) wide.
