A 19th century woven silk shawl
English, possibly Spitalfields, or French, circa 1820-1830
With a repeated design of a bell-shaped flower surmounted by seven smaller flowerheads, in coral, amber, yellow-gold and ecru, within a border of a double helix of lichen framing further flowerheads, and a narrow edging - integral to the width of silk at top and bottom, and sewn over the selvedge at each side - of slanted oak leaves on a terracotta ground. With a long trellised blue fringe.
