An Aubusson entre-fenêtre tapestry
Circa 1870
Woven in silk, wool and metal thread with an urn filled with roses, carnations, campanula and other flowers beneath a swag of hydrangea and foxgloves, and three smaller swags hanging from a baldachin, all against a parchment coloured ground framed with further flowers and a sienna border edged with a broad band of metal thread.
Backed with fine linen.
