A pair of 17th century tassels
Each with a pear shaped mould decorated with coloured silk threads in a herringbone pattern above a polychrome tufted silk ruff and a cylindrical wooden core wrapped with further silk threads; these arranged in vertical coloured bands and covered with a silk net before emerging as the dense skirt below.
The tassels, including the skirts, each 24cm (9½”) high and linked by a woven silk cord.
